Everyday Active Travel Challenge 2022
This Challenge runs from 1 - 31 May 2022 and it’s all about swapping motorised transport for two legs or two wheels.
The Everyday Active Travel Challenge runs for 4 weeks from 1 - 31 may 2022 and it's all about swapping motorised transport for two legs or two wheels. If you walk, run or cycle instead of using motorised transport for all or part of your journey, largely for functional reasons ie. travelling to work, to the local shops and/or to a leisure activity, it can be logged as Active Travel.
Making active travel choices is an easy way to fit activity into your day and can help reduce the risk of obesity and many chronic diseases, improve mental health and your overall well-being. There are so many benefits of Active Travel, we hope you'll join us for this new Challenge. All participants will be entered into the end of Challenge Prize Draw so everyone is in with a chance of being rewarded for their efforts. Good Luck!
If you use one of the following wearable Apps: FitBit, Strava, GoogleFit, you can connect it to your Activity Tracker Profile and any activity you complete will be automatically added to your activity tracker dashboard. However, if you've walked/run/cycled for active travel purposes then you will need to go onto your Activity Tracker dashboard, edit the relevant activity and tick YES to active travel for that activity.
If you don't use a wearable App, don't worry, you just need to manually enter your activity on your dashboard and just remember to tick YES to active travel for the relevant activity.
Even though this Challenge is encouraging you to travel actively, you can still log any other activities that you may be doing over the course of the month. Remember everyday activities count towards all our Everyday Active Challenges so don't forget to log your activities. All your activity points will appear on the leaderboard below.
Throughout the Challenge, we will be sending out weekly newsletters to keep you up to date with the Challenge and to share advice on how to travel actively in Kent & Medway. To receive these e-newletters, please update your email preferences:

Please note, this challenge finishes at midnight 31 May 2022. Activities must be added by midnight on the last day of the challenge for it to count. Points will continue to appear on your activity tracker page after this date but won't be counted in the challenge.
