Athletics offers the widest range of choice of any sport as its various disciplines provide the opportunity to throw, run or jump.
An Overview of Athletics
The range of disciplines across the track, field, road and off-road provides an incredible diversity of events for different people with different skills and abilities. For other people athletics is about fitness and participation but the range of age groups, events, competitions and clubs means that athletics really is a truly inclusive sport. In many different ways athletics really is one of the most exciting, diverse and vibrant sport there is. For many the sport provides the ultimate challenge to their competitive abilities.

Costs
Disciplines such as running only require the cost to purchase suitable shoes. There are many beginners running groups across the country that are free to join and some that charge a small price of £1-2 per session. For more specialised athletic disciplines a membership with a club is likely to be required.

Everyone. The different disciplines suit different body shapes and sizes.
Adaptations and Equipment
Equipment needed is dependent on the discipline. But the key piece of equipment needed is some running shoes.
