Who is it for?
Creating Inclusive Environments for Disabled Riders is open to all who work or volunteer in cycling and are passionate about supporting people with disabilities to be active in cycling. The course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to confidently create an environment with engaging and inclusive sessions, enable riders with disabilities to thrive.
What will you learn?
In the online learning you will explore principles of inclusion, develop an understanding of accessibility needs, gain insight of how to make adaptations and learn from examples. The workshop combines both classroom learning and practical exercises, covering key topics such as:
- Understanding disability
- Adapting activities to meet diverse needs
- Applying adaptations in different cycling contexts
- Exploring how different bikes and equipment affect cycling experiences.
The course includes:
- Online learning - 2 hours
- 1 practical workshop day - 4 hours
What do I need to register?
- Be registered with British Cycling - this is free.
- Be at least 14 years of age.
- Have access to a computer and the internet
How much does Inclusive Cycling Workshop cost?
The course cost is £85 (Online learning and 4 hour Workshop)
