Learning objectives

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify what a club welfare officer does
  2. Describe how a club welfare officer works with others to create a child centred environment
  3. Explain how the club welfare officer role fits into the wider safeguarding environment
  4. Apply learning to case studies including sharing good safeguarding practice

Course structure

The course takes place over three modules of around one hour in length (75 mins for module one) using a virtual classroom setting to enable you to complete this from your own home.

Pre-course learning

Before attending the course please watch this short video (about 11 minutes in length) to prepare you for the training -

Some CWOs will need to attend a sport specific Time to Listen. Please check with your governing body prior to booking.

CWOs must have attended a Safeguarding & Protecting Children workshop previously and will need to bring their own reporting procedures to the workshop.

For those needing to complete the UK Coaching Safeguarding and Protecting Children Online Classroom (Wednesday 23 September 7.00pm-9.30pm) and this Time to Listen Virtual Classroom we are able to offer both workshops for just £35, a saving of £15. Please pay the £35 rate and you will be booked onto both workshops (subject to availability).
